About White Pond
White Pond is a naturally occurring pond that has been enhanced with a 5-foot high dam located in the southwest corner of the Town of Athol, in Worcester County Massachusetts. The then owner, William Lord in the 50’s, deeded Land rights under the pond as well as certain adjacent property to the White Pond Associates, Inc. of Athol Massachusetts. The Association is made up of approximately 40 members with the stated objective to improve and preserve the aesthetic and recreational value of the White Pond community. “This objective would be accomplished by improvement and maintenance of such factors as weed control, water quality, roads, boat ramps, preservation of nature and related influences such as water and boating safety.” Some White Pond community information here.
So, if you visit us, you’ll understand why those of us who live, fish, swim and boat there frequently quote a famous line,
“If you’re lucky enough to live by the water, you’re lucky enough.”
